JATIMTIMES - Menteri Lingkungan Hidup RI Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat mengunjungi pengelolaan sampah di TPA Banjardowo, Jombang. Dalam kunjungannya, Jumhur menyaksikan sampah yang diolah menyisakan hanya 30% saja.
Rombongan Menteri LH tiba di TPA Banjardowo siang tadi sekitar pukul 14.30 WIB. Setibanya di lokasi, Jumhur langsung meninjau gedung pengelolaan sampah yang dipandu Kepala Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten Jombang Miftahul Ulum.

Jumhur dijelaskan secara detil oleh Ulum terkait kerja mesin pengelola sampah. Mulai dari awal sampah datang hingga pemrosesan menjadi arang briket hingga pupuk kompos. "Jumlah sampah di Jombang sudah baik karena begini, yang ada kebanyakan selama ini ya, timbul, angkut, buang. Bisa 100% tuh yang diangkut. Kalau ini tidak. Ada timbulan, dipilah, dibagi-bagi di daerah dalam perjalanan," ujarnya kepada wartawan di lokasi, Rabu (15/6/2026).
Dengan sistem pemilahan tersebut, lanjut Jumhur, sisa sampah yang dibuang ke tempat pemrosesan akhir hanya berkisar 30%. Sisa sampah lainnya diproses melalui mekanisme ekonomi sirkular yang memungkinkan sampah memiliki nilai ekonomi.
Selain aspek lingkungan, Jumhur menekankan pentingnya menciptakan green jobs atau pekerjaan hijau dalam ekosistem pengelolaan sampah. Ia menargetkan peningkatan kapasitas ekonomi sirkular agar pengelolaan sampah dapat mandiri secara ekonomi, bahkan tanpa subsidi pemerintah.
"Kita akan studi langsung, nanti mungkin kita kirim orang yang lebih detail lagi. Kalau jumlah sampahnya lebih banyak sebetulnya dan bisa diolah, itu secara ekonomi, namanya ada skala ekonomi," jelasnya.

Lebih lanjut, ia menuturkan bahwa inisiatif di Jombang dapat menjadi model bagi daerah lain di Indonesia untuk menerapkan sistem serupa. Pihaknya menargetkan seluruh kabupaten di Indonesia dapat menerapkan sistem pengelolaan sampah yang efektif dalam kurun waktu satu hingga dua tahun ke depan.
"Pokoknya harus satu dua tahun tuh seluruh kabupaten harus selesai," tegasnya.
