JATIMTIMES - Keberhasilan kelas unggulan tidak cukup diukur dari ketatnya proses seleksi peserta didik. Bagi Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) 2 Kota Malang, kualitas pembinaan selama proses belajar justru menjadi faktor utama dalam melahirkan lulusan yang berprestasi sekaligus berkarakter.
Pandangan tersebut menjadi dasar madrasah melakukan evaluasi menyeluruh terhadap seluruh program kelas unggulan sebagai bekal penyusunan kebijakan Tahun Ajaran 2026/2027. Selama dua hari, 26 hingga 27 Juni 2026, jajaran pimpinan madrasah, komite, tim kurikulum, serta pengelola program merumuskan berbagai penyempurnaan agar layanan pendidikan semakin adaptif terhadap kebutuhan peserta didik.

Kepala MTsN 2 Kota Malang Anita Yusianti MPd menegaskan bahwa program kelas unggulan harus dibangun melalui sistem yang terencana, mulai dari pemetaan peserta didik hingga pelaksanaan program dan pengelolaan anggaran.
"Kelas unggulan harus dibangun melalui sistem yang jelas, mulai dari pemetaan murid berdasarkan kualifikasi yang objektif, penyusunan program yang terarah, hingga pengelolaan anggaran yang akuntabel. Yang terpenting bukan hanya memperoleh input yang baik, tetapi bagaimana proses pembinaan mampu menghasilkan output yang unggul, berkarakter, dan berprestasi," ujar Anita.
Menurut dia, evaluasi menjadi bagian penting untuk memastikan setiap program terus berkembang mengikuti tantangan pendidikan. Karena itu, setiap kelas unggulan didorong memiliki target yang terukur, indikator keberhasilan yang jelas, serta menghadirkan inovasi pembelajaran yang memberikan dampak nyata bagi perkembangan peserta didik.
Langkah penyempurnaan tersebut dilakukan terhadap empat program unggulan yang selama ini menjadi ciri khas MTsN 2 Kota Malang, yakni Program Bilingual, Olimpiade, Tahfidz, dan Program Percepatan melalui Sistem Kredit Semester (SKS).
Masing-masing tim pengelola memaparkan hasil pelaksanaan program selama satu tahun terakhir, termasuk capaian yang telah diraih, berbagai tantangan yang dihadapi, serta strategi yang akan diterapkan pada tahun ajaran mendatang.
Program Bilingual diarahkan untuk memperkuat kemampuan komunikasi berbahasa asing melalui penyempurnaan pembelajaran berbasis bilingual. Sementara Program Olimpiade menitikberatkan pengembangan peserta didik berbakat melalui pendampingan yang lebih intensif serta pola kompetisi yang berjenjang.
Di sisi lain, Program Tahfidz menyusun penguatan pembinaan Al-Qur'an dengan target hafalan yang lebih sistematis. Adapun Program Percepatan (SKS) dikembangkan agar mampu memberikan layanan belajar yang lebih fleksibel tanpa mengurangi kualitas akademik maupun kesiapan psikologis peserta didik.

Ketua Komite MTsN 2 Kota Malang Sjahlan menilai pengembangan program unggulan harus tetap berpijak pada tujuan utama pendidikan madrasah, yakni membentuk karakter peserta didik.
"Prestasi merupakan nilai tambah, namun akhlakul karimah harus tetap menjadi identitas utama madrasah. Oleh karena itu, setiap program unggulan harus mampu melahirkan generasi yang cerdas sekaligus berkarakter," katanya.
Hasil pembahasan seluruh tim kemudian dituangkan dalam program kerja, Term of Reference (TOR), dan Rencana Anggaran Biaya (RAB) yang akan menjadi acuan pelaksanaan setiap program sepanjang tahun ajaran 2026/2027. Penyusunannya dilakukan secara kolaboratif sehingga setiap program memiliki arah pengembangan, indikator keberhasilan, jadwal pelaksanaan, serta dukungan anggaran yang terencana.
Ditegaskan Anita, di MTsN 2 Kota Malang, evaluasi bukan sekadar agenda tahunan. Proses tersebut menjadi pijakan untuk memastikan kelas unggulan terus berkembang dan mampu menghasilkan peserta didik yang unggul dalam akademik, religius, berkarakter, adaptif, serta siap bersaing di tingkat nasional maupun internasional.
