JATIMTIMES - Persoalan sampah yang telah berlangsung selama bertahun tahun di Dusun Paras, Kecamatan Poncokusumo, Kabupaten Malang menjadi perhatian serius Pemerintah Kabupaten Malang dan Dewan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (DEMA) Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim (UIN Maliki) Malang. Permasalahan tersebut tidak hanya berdampak pada lingkungan, tetapi juga berpotensi memengaruhi kondisi kesehatan masyarakat.
Berangkat dari persoalan itu, kedua pihak mulai menyusun langkah bersama melalui program Semesta Mengabdi agar solusi yang dihadirkan tidak berhenti pada kegiatan jangka pendek.

Komitmen tersebut mengemuka dalam rapat koordinasi yang digelar di Sekretariat Daerah Kabupaten Malang, belum lama ini. Pertemuan mempertemukan Bupati Malang HM. Sanusi MM bersama jajaran kepala Dinas Lingkungan Hidup, Dinas Kesehatan, Dinas Pendidikan, serta Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Malang dengan pengurus DEMA UIN Maliki Malang. Turut hadir Kepala Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP2M) UIN Maliki Malang Dr M. Mahpur MSi beserta tim pelaksana program.
Dusun Paras dipilih sebagai lokasi pengabdian bukan tanpa alasan. Kawasan tersebut masih menghadapi persoalan pengelolaan sampah yang diwariskan secara turun temurun. Kondisi itu mendorong perlunya penanganan yang melibatkan berbagai pihak agar perubahan yang dihasilkan dapat bertahan dalam jangka panjang. Di sisi lain, masih terdapat kebutuhan peningkatan layanan kesehatan masyarakat yang juga menjadi perhatian dalam penyusunan program.
Presiden Mahasiswa DEMA UIN Maliki Malang Ahmad Ghozali Abbasnmenyampaikan bahwa pengabdian masyarakat harus mampu menjawab kebutuhan warga, bukan sekadar memenuhi agenda tahunan mahasiswa. Karena itu, seluruh rancangan kegiatan disusun melalui koordinasi dengan pemerintah daerah agar program yang dijalankan benar benar sesuai dengan kondisi di lapangan.
Bupati Malang HM. Sanusi menegaskan bahwa pemerintah daerah membuka ruang kolaborasi seluas luasnya selama program yang dijalankan memiliki arah yang jelas dan memberi manfaat bagi masyarakat.
"UIN apa yang bisa dibantukan pada masyarakat, program apa yang dilanjutkan, apa yang dikerjakan. Program harus yang penting, berkelanjutan, jelas manajemennya, jelas pelaksanaannya, dan jelas manfaatnya. Kami siap untuk mendukung penuh," kata Sanusi.
Menurut dia, pendekatan pengabdian masyarakat perlu bergeser dari kegiatan yang bersifat seremonial menuju program yang mampu menciptakan perubahan nyata. Pengalaman kolaborasi Pemerintah Kabupaten Malang dengan sejumlah perguruan tinggi sebelumnya juga menjadi bahan pembelajaran dalam menyusun pola pendampingan yang lebih efektif.

Dalam forum tersebut, Koordinator Kementerian Pengabdian Masyarakat DEMA UIN Maliki Malang Moh. Arbeth Bahar memaparkan konsep Semesta Mengabdi yang selanjutnya dibahas bersama perangkat daerah. Pembahasan difokuskan pada penyelarasan program agar dapat dijalankan secara optimal selama 12 hari pelaksanaan.
Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten Malang mengusulkan sejumlah langkah konkret untuk menjawab persoalan sampah di Dusun Paras. Program tersebut meliputi pengolahan sampah melalui metode composting menggunakan mesin pencacah dan tong kompos berbahan galon bekas, pemanfaatan bambu di kawasan tempat pembuangan akhir, penanaman pohon bertajuk lebar, pengembangan refuse derived fuel atau RDF, hingga penerapan konsep circular economy agar sampah memiliki nilai ekonomi dan dapat menjadi sumber pendapatan masyarakat.
Sementara itu, sektor kesehatan diarahkan pada upaya pencegahan melalui pembentukan posko kesehatan, edukasi perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat atau PHBS, deteksi dini karies gigi, serta pendataan warga lanjut usia untuk pelayanan kesehatan dari rumah ke rumah. Program tersebut disusun sebagai bentuk kolaborasi dengan Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Malang sekaligus menyesuaikan keterbatasan tenaga medis selama kegiatan berlangsung.
Melalui sinergi lintas perangkat daerah, DEMA UIN Maliki Malang dan Pemerintah Kabupaten Malang berharap Semesta Mengabdi dapat menjadi contoh pengabdian masyarakat yang berangkat dari persoalan nyata, memiliki target yang terukur, serta mampu melahirkan dampak yang berkelanjutan bagi warga Dusun Paras. Pendekatan tersebut juga diharapkan memperkuat peran mahasiswa sebagai mitra strategis pemerintah dalam mendorong pembangunan berbasis kebutuhan masyarakat.
