JATIMTIMES – Beberapa waktu lalu, Menteri Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno memberikan respon yang positif terkait potensi metaverse. Menurutnya, potensi metaverse di Indonesia cukup besar untuk bisa meningkatkan peluang aktivitas usaha sehingga bisa membuka lapangan kerja baru meskipun harus digarap dengan hati hati.

Perkembangan teknologi di dunia terjadi sangat masif salah satunya mengenai perkembangan metaverse. Teknologi metaverse semakin populer di akhir 2021, terlebih setelah perusahaan raksasa di bidang teknologi yaitu Facebook berganti nama menjadi Meta. Tidak hanya perusahaan, negara juga memanfaatkan teknologi Metaverse untuk keperluan pemerintahan seperti yang dilakukan oleh negara Barbados.

Oscar pun menambahkan bahwa blockchain, seperti metaverse dan NFT memang hal yang sudah lumrah di masyarakat. Namun akan sangat disayangkan apabila masyarakat hanya mengenal kripto ataupun NFT saja dikarenakan hype nya yang memang terjadi baru baru ini.

“Karena memang, metaverse ini akan memiliki use case yang bisa berguna untuk berbagai macam industri meskipun saat ini, use case metaverse yang terkenal baru sebatas di bidang gaming,” tutup Oscar.
