JATIMTIMES - Ratusan sopir angkutan kota (angkot) yang tergabung dalam berbagai jalur di Kota Malang mendatangi Kantor Dinas Perhubungan (Dishub) Kota Malang untuk menyampaikan keresahan mereka terkait operasional Trans Jatim . Namun di balik tuntutan evaluasi koridor, tersimpan kekecewaan yang lebih dalam. Para sopir merasa aspirasi mereka selama ini tidak pernah benar-benar didengar oleh Wali Kota Malang Wahyu Hidayat.
Dalam aksi tersebut, para sopir menagih komitmen pemerintah daerah yang sebelumnya menjanjikan perhatian terhadap kesejahteraan pengemudi angkot. Mereka menilai hingga kini belum ada langkah nyata yang mampu menjawab persoalan yang dihadapi para sopir di lapangan.

Salah seorang perwakilan sopir angkot, Sonny Junaedi mengaku komunikasi dengan pemerintah memang masih berlangsung. Namun, komunikasi tersebut dinilai belum menghasilkan solusi konkret.
"Kalau komunikasi dengan pemerintah tetap ada. Yang kami minta hanya satu, yaitu agar kami diperhatikan dan tidak semakin dipersempit ruang geraknya," ujarnya, Kamis (25/6/2026).
Padahal, sejak menjadi Penjabat (Pj) Wali Kota Malang hingga maju sebagai calon wali kota yang saat itu diberi nama pasangan Wali (Wahyu Hidayat-Ali Muthohirin), Wahyu sempat memberikan harapan kepada sopir angkot. Bahkan, Wahyu juga secara terang memberikan harapan agar kesejahteraan sopir angkot naik kelas.
Namun, kondisi yang dialami sopir angkot di Kota Malang saat ini justru berbanding terbalik seperti peribahasa 'sudah jatuh tertimpa tangga'. Betapa tidak, sopir angkot yang saat ini sudah sepi karena keberadaan transportasi online, ditambah beroperasinya Trans Jatim yang dianggap mempersempit nafas mereka untuk mendapatkan penumpang.
Menurutnya, para sopir selama ini hanya ingin mendapatkan ruang yang adil untuk tetap bertahan menjalankan profesinya. Namun berbagai kebijakan yang muncul justru membuat mereka merasa semakin tersisih.
"Kalau mereka (pemerintah), memang sering menyampaikan berbagai hal, tapi ya namanya pemerintahan, pada akhirnya kondisinya masih seperti ini," keluhnya meski dengan nada tinggi.
Kekecewaan itu semakin besar karena para sopir masih mengingat janji yang pernah disampaikan Wali Kota Malang saat masa kampanye. Saat itu, kesejahteraan sopir angkot menjadi salah satu isu yang mendapat perhatian. Akan tetapi, para sopir mengaku belum merasakan dampak nyata dari janji tersebut setelah pemerintahan berjalan.
Di sisi lain, mereka juga menyoroti keberadaan Trans Jatim yang dinilai semakin mempersempit peluang angkot mendapatkan penumpang. Kehadiran halte yang berdekatan di sejumlah ruas jalan disebut membuat masyarakat lebih memilih menggunakan layanan bus tersebut.
"Karena gini. Kami ini sebelum adanya Trans Jatim sudah berada pada posisi yang terhimpit dengan angkutan lainnya. Ditambah dengan adanya Trans Jatim, kami semakin tidak imbang dalam memberikan pelayanan," katanya.

Ia menilai keberadaan halte Trans Jatim yang berada di jalur-jalur angkot membuat persaingan tidak berjalan seimbang. "Halte-haltenya terlalu dekat. Terus bagaimana penumpang mau naik angkot? Sedangkan kami dengan jalur lain itu ada istilah transit, saling menghubungkan. Dengan adanya Trans Jatim yang memiliki banyak halte di jalur-jalur angkot, otomatis kami tidak imbang dalam melakukan pelayanan. Kami ini benar-benar terjepit," tegasnya.
Dalam aksi tersebut, para sopir meminta agar operasional Trans Jatim dievaluasi. Salah satu usulan yang disampaikan adalah menjadikan layanan Trans Jatim beroperasi dari terminal ke terminal sehingga tidak bersinggungan secara langsung dengan trayek angkot yang sudah ada.
"Yang diminta teman-teman sebenarnya Trans Jatim itu beroperasi dari terminal ke terminal. Jadi angkot tetap bisa eksis dalam memberikan pelayanan sehari-hari," ujarnya.
Selain menuntut evaluasi koridor Trans Jatim, para sopir juga mempertanyakan realisasi program angkot pelajar yang hingga kini belum mendapatkan kejelasan. "Kalau masalah angkot pelajar, kami belum mendapatkan penjelasan yang riil. Jadi saya belum bisa menerangkan. Mekanismenya seperti apa, kami juga belum tahu sampai sekarang," katanya.
Data yang disampaikan perwakilan sopir menyebutkan saat ini masih terdapat sekitar 1.000 armada angkot yang beroperasi di Malang Raya. Di Kota Malang sendiri, angkot masih melayani masyarakat melalui 17 jalur yang tersebar di berbagai wilayah.
Melalui aksi di Kantor Dishub tersebut, para sopir berharap pemerintah tidak hanya mendengar aspirasi mereka, tetapi juga segera mengambil langkah nyata untuk menjaga keberlangsungan angkutan kota yang selama puluhan tahun menjadi bagian penting dari sistem transportasi masyarakat Kota Malang.
