JATIMTIMES – Kecelakaan lalu lintas tunggal akibat kegagalan fungsi teknis kendaraan kembali terjadi di wilayah hukum Polres Batu. Sebuah kendaraan jenis truk roda enam (R6) Mitsubishi dilaporkan mengalami hilang kendali atau out of control usai rem blong di Jalan Raya Ir. Soekarno, Desa Beji, Kecamatan Junrejo, Kota Batu, Rabu (24/6/2026).

Insiden tersebut berlangsung sekitar pukul 15.00 WIB, saat kondisi jalanan tengah landai. Truk hilang kendali setelah sistem pengeremannya mendadak tidak berfungsi. Kendaraan Mitsubishi dengan nomor polisi AE 9575 PG tersebut diketahui dikemudikan oleh Ladianto (46), seorang warga yang berdomisili di Jalan Damun, Desa Beji, Kecamatan Junrejo, Kota Batu.

Kasat Lantas Polres Batu, AKP Matheus Jaka Iswantara, membenarkan adanya laporan kejadian laka lantas tunggal tersebut. Pihaknya menegaskan bahwa faktor utama insiden ini bersumber dari kelalaian tata cara berkendara serta kondisi teknis pengereman.

Kecelakaan bermula ketika kendaraan roda enam tersebut bergerak dari arah selatan menuju utara untuk keluar dari area garasi. Namun, sesaat setelah kendaraan melaju dan hendak memasuki lajur utama Jalan Raya Ir. Soekarno, sistem rem kendaraan tiba-tiba tidak berfungsi sama sekali.

"Akibat hilangnya daya henti tersebut, laju kendaraan langsung tidak terkendali hingga memotong jalan utama. Truk tersebut baru berhenti setelah menabrak pot bunga berukuran besar yang terletak tepat di bagian depan sebuah masjid di kawasan setempat," jelasnya.

Hantaman keras kendaraan besar tersebut mengakibatkan pot bunga di depan masjid mengalami kerusakan cukup parah. Meski memicu kepanikan warga di sekitar lokasi kejadian, pihak kepolisian memastikan tidak ada korban jiwa maupun luka-luka dalam insiden ini.

"Kecelakaan akibat rem tidak berfungsi saat hendak keluar garasi. Diduga pengemudi kurang berhati-hati dan ceroboh dalam tata cara berkendara," ujar Jaka.

Jaka menambahkan, akibat peristiwa serudukan tersebut, kerugian materiil ditaksir mencapai Rp 1.000.000 (satu juta rupiah). Petugas kepolisian yang menerima laporan telah diterjunkan ke lokasi untuk mengamankan arus lalu lintas.

Sejumlah personel kepolisian, di antaranya Ipda Agus Atang Wibowo, Aipda Syaifuddin Zuhri, Briptu Thomas Dwi Fibriyanto, dan Briptu Arrofiq Dhiaulhaq, langsung melakukan olah tempat kejadian perkara (TKP) serta memeriksa sejumlah saksi mata, termasuk Erik Muhammad Ali dan Gatot Susilo.

Saat ini, kasus kecelakaan tunggal tersebut telah ditangani sepenuhnya oleh Unit Gakkum Sat Lantas Polres Batu untuk proses penyelidikan lebih lanjut.

"Kami juga mengimbau para pemilik kendaraan besar untuk rutin memeriksa kelaikan fungsi rem sebelum berkendara," imbuhnya.
