JATIMTIMES - Pelaksana Tugas (Plt) Bupati Tulungagung, Ahmad Baharudin, hadir dalam kegiatan ritual adat Labuh Massal yang diinisiasi oleh Kelompok Tani Angker di Desa Dukuh, Kecamatan Gondang, Senin (1/6/2026). pagi. 

Kegiatan ini merupakan ritual ungkapan syukur atas melimpahnya hasil bumi. Selain Plt Bupati Ahmad Baharudin, juga turut hadir jajaran dinas terkait, unsur Forkopimcam, Pemdes Dukuh serta warga setempat.

Sejumlah pejabat yang mendampingi diantaranya Suyanto, Kepala Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Muhammad Ardian Candra, Camat Gondang Endra Kusriawan, Danramil Gondang, Kapolsek Gondang, Kepala Desa Dukuh, Ketua BPD Dukuh, Koordinator BPP, Kepala UPT Pengairan Gondang, para formulator, serta kelompok tani. 

Menurut Ahmad Baharudin tradisi Labuh  Massal bukan sekadar formalitas, melainkan ritual turun-temurun yang sarat makna spiritual.

“Labuh Massal merupakan ritual adat petani untuk berterima kasih kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa atas berkah panen padi yang melimpah,” tutur Ahmad Baharudin.

Pada tahun 2025 di sektor pertanian, lahan panen seluas 45.966 hektare, Tulungagung sukses memproduksi 319.969,33 ton gabah kering panen (GKP) atau setara dengan 185.582,21 ton beras.

Dengan jumlah penduduk sekitar 1,1 juta jiwa yang membutuhkan konsumsi beras sebesar 90.944 ton per tahun, Tulungagung berhasil mencatatkan surplus beras mencapai 94.638,08 ton. Keberhasilan ini memperkokoh posisi Tulungagung sebagai salah satu lumbung pangan utama di Jawa Timur.

Namun demikian, Plt. Bupati mengingatkan bahwa sektor pertanian masih dibayangi berbagai tantangan serius. Mulai dari fenomena alih fungsi lahan, penurunan kesuburan tanah, dampak perubahan iklim, keterbatasan infrastruktur, serangan hama (OPT), pasokan sarana produksi, hingga perlunya akselerasi teknologi di kalangan petani.

“Isu ketersediaan air memerlukan perhatian serius. Berdasarkan proyeksi BMKG untuk tahun 2026, kita akan melewati musim kemarau yang cukup panjang. Karena itu, para petani diharapkan bijak dan efektif dalam mengelola sumber air agar aktivitas pertanian tidak terganggu,” tuturnya. 

Momentum Labuh Massal ini diharapkan memotivasi para petani untuk terus mendongkrak produktivitas sekaligus menjaga ketahanan pangan. 

“Kita wajib menjaga warisan leluhur ini agar terus eksis. Semoga ke depan petani di Tulungagung bisa semakin modern, mandiri, dan berdaya saing, demi mewujudkan daerah yang harmonis, aman, sejahtera, dan terus berkembang,” pungkasnya.
