JATIMTIMES - Melemahnya nilai tukar rupiah terhadap dolar AS mulai memukul pelaku usaha kecil di Sentra Industri Tempe Sanan, Kelurahan Purwantoro, Kecamatan Blimbing, Kota Malang. Kenaikan harga kedelai impor hingga bahan kemasan membuat biaya produksi membengkak, sementara daya beli masyarakat justru menurun.
Kondisi tersebut dirasakan langsung para pengusaha keripik tempe dan pengrajin tempe rumahan yang kini harus memutar otak demi mempertahankan usaha tetap berjalan.

Pemilik Toko Kripik Tempe Putra Ridho, Frimiyanti (46), mengaku lonjakan harga paling terasa terjadi pada plastik kemasan dan kresek. Dalam beberapa bulan terakhir, harga kemasan bahkan naik hingga 50 persen.
“Yang mahal itu plastik sama kresek, naiknya sampai 50 persen. Dulu satu pack isi 100 biji harganya Rp 35.000, sekarang jadi Rp 56.000 sampai Rp 60.000,” ujar Frimiyanti.
Tak hanya kemasan, harga tempe sebagai bahan baku utama ikut melonjak tajam. Jika sebelumnya satu keranjang tempe siap olah dibeli sekitar Rp 350 ribu hingga Rp 400 ribu, kini harganya menembus Rp 600 ribu per keranjang.
“Naiknya harga bahan-bahan ini kira-kira sejak akhir Februari, sejak adanya perang (Timur Tengah),” jelasnya.
Kenaikan harga bahan baku tersebut disebut berkaitan dengan melemahnya rupiah terhadap dolar AS. Kondisi global yang tidak menentu membuat harga barang impor dan distribusi ikut terdorong naik.
Di sisi lain, masyarakat mulai lebih berhati-hati membelanjakan uangnya. Dampaknya, penjualan keripik tempe sebagai salah satu oleh-oleh khas Malang ikut menurun, bahkan saat musim libur panjang.
“Kalau dulu musim liburan ramai, sekarang cenderung sepi. Berkurang dari dulu,” katanya.
Meski biaya produksi terus naik, Yanti mengaku belum berani menaikkan harga jual. Ia khawatir pelanggan maupun reseller keberatan dan beralih ke produk lain.
Sebagai jalan tengah, ia memilih mengurangi ukuran dan kualitas plastik kemasan agar harga produk tetap terjangkau. “Plastiknya saja yang saya kurangi, cari yang lebih kecil dan lebih murah. Soalnya pelanggan banyak yang mengeluh kalau harga naik,” katanya.
Akibat kondisi tersebut, margin keuntungan usahanya semakin menipis. Namun ia tetap mempertahankan usaha demi para pekerja yang menggantungkan hidup dari produksi keripik tempe miliknya.
“Saya enggak menghitung laba, tambah pusing. Yang penting masih laku. Kalau enggak ada permintaan, kasihan karyawan jadi enggak kerja,” ucapnya.
Saat ini usaha miliknya mempekerjakan sekitar 10 warga sekitar dengan kapasitas produksi lebih dari 1.000 bungkus keripik tempe per hari.

Situasi serupa juga dirasakan pengrajin tempe di kawasan Sanan. Salah satu karyawan pengrajin tempe, Ami, mengatakan harga kedelai impor terus merangkak naik setelah kurs dolar AS menguat dan jalur perdagangan global terganggu.
“Awalnya harga kedelai sekitar Rp 9.800, sekarang jadi Rp 10.900 per kilogram, kadang juga lebih,” ujar Ami.
Menurutnya, sebagian besar produsen tempe memilih tidak menaikkan harga jual demi menjaga pelanggan. Sebagai gantinya, ukuran tempe diperkecil dan dibuat lebih tipis dibanding sebelumnya.
“Kalau harga tempe tidak kota naikkan, jadi harganya tetap. Ukurannya saja yang kita kecilkan, lebih tipis dari sebelumnya, kira-kira 1,5 centimeter,” beber Ami.
Untuk satu lonjor tempe ukuran besar dijual sekitar Rp 23 ribu hingga Rp 25 ribu, sedangkan ukuran kecil dipasarkan Rp 18 ribu hingga Rp 20 ribu.
Ami menyebut daya beli masyarakat mulai menurun, termasuk di pasar tradisional. Banyak pelanggan yang sebelumnya membeli tempe Rp 10 ribu kini hanya membeli Rp 5 ribu hingga Rp 7 ribu.
“Kalau pembeli memang sedikit berkurang, meskipun tidak banyak dan masih ada saja yang beli,” ujarnya.
Penurunan daya beli itu turut mempengaruhi jumlah produksi harian. Jika sebelumnya mampu memproduksi hingga 7 sampai 8 kuintal per hari, kini turun menjadi sekitar 6,5 kuintal. “Kadang kalau penjual pasar tidak habis jualannya, ada yang dikembalikan juga,” tuturnya.
Para pelaku usaha berharap pemerintah dapat segera mengambil langkah untuk menstabilkan harga bahan baku, khususnya kedelai impor dan bahan pendukung produksi UMKM.
“Harapan kami pemerintah bisa membantu produsen tempe rumahan seperti kami, dengan menurunkan harga kedelai. Agar setiap hari kami bisa tetap berproduksi,” pungkas Ami.
