JATIMTIMES - Menjelang momentum perayaan Iduladha 1447 Hijriah/tahun 2026 yang akan berlangsung di pekan terakhir bulan Mei 2026 mendatang, Pemerintah Kabupaten (Pemkab) Malang mendapatkan jatah 32 ribu dosis vaksin Penyakit Mulut dan Kuku (PMK) untuk hewan ternak dari pemerintah pusat.
Pelaksana Tugas (Plt) Kepala Bidang Kesehatan Hewan dan Kesehatan Masyarakat Veteriner Dinas Peternakan dan Kesehatan Hewan (DPKH) Kabupaten Malang Lucia Endah Sukesi menyampaikan, dari 32 ribu dosis vaksin PMK yang diterima. Saat ini distribusi sudah mencapai angka 80 persen lebih, sebanyak 26 ribu dosis vaksin PMK telah diberikan ke hewan-hewan ternak.

Sebanyak 32 ribu dosis vaksin PMK tersebut diterima oleh Pemkab Malang dalam dua tahap. Yakni tahap pertama di bulan Februari 2026 sebanyak 16 ribu dosis vaksin PMK. Sedangkan tahap kedua di bulan April 2026 sebanyak 16 ribu dosis vaksin PMK.
"Tahap pertama sudah habis kami berikan, sedangkan tahap dua masih berproses. Saat ini jika ditotal sudah ada 26 ribu dosis yang kami berikan kepada hewan ternak," ungkap Lucia.
Ia menyebut, untuk vaksin PMK diberikan kepada hewan ternak di seluruh wilayah Kabupaten Malang. Namun, terdapat beberapa wilayah yang mendapatkan lebih banyak alokasi vaksin PMK, mengingat kondisi populasi di masing-masing wilayah. Di antaranya Kecamatan Donomulyo, Kalipare, Wajak, Karangploso dan Kasembon.
Selain itu, untuk vaksin PMK diutamakan diberikan kepada sapi, baik sapi potong maupun sapi perah. Secara khusus, di lokasi yang memiliki banyak populasi sapi akan mendapatkan prioritas penerima vaksin PMK.
"Pasalnya lokasi-lokasi tersebut lebih rawan terinfeksi PMK karena pergerakan hewan ternaknya lebih tinggi. Apalagi saat menjelang Iduladha pada akhir Mei 2026 mendatang," tutur Lucia.
Pihaknya menjelaskan, proses penularan PMK dapat melalui cairan vesikel, air liur, susu hingga kotoran hewan ternak yang telah terinfeksi PMK. Ia menambahkan, proses penularannya bisa terjadi antar hewan yang berada dalam satu kandang atau komplek, bahkan antar area.
Oleh karena itu, sebagai upaya pencegahan persebaran PMK dan menjadikan hewan ternak sehat, ia mengatakan agar para peternak dapat menjaga kebersihan hewan ternak beserta kandang dan memberikan vaksin PMK terhadap hewan ternak.

Selain mengandalkan vaksin PMK, pihaknya meminta kepada para peternak untuk dapat memberikan racikan obat tradisional kepada hewan ternak agar daya tahan tubuh dari hewan ternak dapat terus meningkat.
"Virus hanya bisa dilawan oleh tubuhnya sendiri, karena itu daya tahannya harus ditingkatkan. Berbeda dengan bakteri yang ada antibiotik untuk menyembuhkan penyakitnya," tutur Lucia.
Sebagai informasi, PMK merupakan penyakit menular yang menyerang hewan berkuku belah, seperti sapi, kambing dan domba. Namun, berdasarkan catatan dari DPKH Kabupaten Malang, mayoritas hewan ternak yang terkena PMK di Kabupaten Malang yakni sapi.
Ia menambahkan, untuk mengetahui hewan ternak yang terkena PMK, terdapat beberapa gejala yang harus dipahami oleh para peternak dan masyarakat luas Kabupaten Malang. Di antaranya, demam hingga 40 sampai 41 derajat celsius serta terdapat luka melepuh di beberapa indera sapi. Seperti di lidah, bibir, mulut, gusi, selaput lendir pipi, langit-langit mulut dan hidung.
