JATIMTIMES - Fenomena balap liar yang kian meresahkan di Kota Malang mendapat respons serius dari kepolisian. Tak hanya melakukan penindakan, pendekatan edukatif kini diperkuat dengan menyasar langsung kalangan pelajar sebagai kelompok yang rentan terlibat.
Langkah tersebut terlihat saat Kabagops Polresta Malang Kota, Kompol Wiwin Rusli, turun langsung memberikan pembinaan di SMKN 10 Kota Malang, Kecamatan Kedungkandang. Kegiatan ini menjadi bagian dari upaya preventif untuk menekan keterlibatan remaja dalam aksi balap liar yang berisiko tinggi.

Di depan ratusan siswa, Wiwin menekankan bahwa balap liar bukan sekadar pelanggaran, tetapi juga ancaman nyata bagi keselamatan.
“Balap liar itu bukan ajang unjuk keberanian, tapi justru membuka peluang terjadinya kecelakaan. Banyak kejadian berakhir fatal, bahkan merenggut nyawa. Ini yang harus dipahami bersama,” kata Wiwin, Sabtu (25/4/2026).
Ia juga mengingatkan bahwa konsekuensi hukum menanti para pelaku. Selain melanggar aturan lalu lintas, aksi tersebut bisa berujung pada sanksi pidana sesuai Undang-Undang Nomor 22 Tahun 2009.
“Jangan sampai masa depan rusak hanya karena ikut-ikutan tren yang salah. Sekali terlibat, dampaknya bisa panjang, baik secara hukum maupun sosial,” tegasnya.
Menariknya, petugas juga meninjau dua unit motor rakitan yang dipamerkan di lingkungan sekolah. Momen ini dimanfaatkan untuk mengarahkan minat otomotif siswa ke kegiatan yang lebih positif dan terarah.
“Kalau memang punya minat di otomotif, salurkan di tempat yang benar. Banyak wadah resmi yang bisa diikuti tanpa harus melanggar aturan,” tambah Wiwin.

Sedang antusiasme siswa juga terlihat dalam sesi diskusi. Mereka aktif mengajukan pertanyaan mulai dari risiko hukum hingga cara menghindari pergaulan yang mengarah pada balap liar.
Sementara itu Kepala SMKN 10 Kota Malang, Rudi Trisantoso, menyambut positif sekaligus mengapresiasi kehadiran jajaran kepolisian yang turun langsung memberikan edukasi kepada para siswa di lingkungan sekolah. Dengan kegiatan seperti ini memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk karakter generasi muda, khususnya dalam menanamkan kedisiplinan, kesadaran hukum, serta tanggung jawab dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
Ia menilai, pembinaan yang dilakukan secara langsung oleh aparat kepolisian mampu memberikan pemahaman yang lebih konkret kepada siswa terkait risiko dan konsekuensi dari perilaku menyimpang, seperti balap liar.
“Kami sangat mengapresiasi kegiatan ini karena memberikan wawasan yang sangat bermanfaat bagi siswa. Harapannya, edukasi dan pembinaan seperti ini bisa terus dilakukan secara berkelanjutan, sehingga para siswa tidak hanya memahami aturan, tetapi juga memiliki kesadaran untuk menjauhi perilaku negatif serta mampu menjadi pribadi yang lebih disiplin dan bertanggung jawab,” ungkapnya.
