JATIMTIMES - Wali Kota Malang, Wahyu Hidayat menanggapi temuan tembok retak di kawasan Pasar Besar. Ia menyebut laporan awal sudah diterima dari Dinas Koperasi, Perindustrian, dan Perdagangan (Diskopindag).
Menurut Wahyu, pendataan tengah dilakukan untuk mengetahui jumlah titik keretakan. Langkah ini penting sebagai upaya pencegahan risiko yang lebih besar di kemudian hari.

“Kami ini menjaga, mencegah kerawanan apabila nanti timbul permasalahan. Makanya dipasang tanda peringatan sambil menunggu proses,” ujarnya.
Wahyu juga menekankan pentingnya percepatan penataan Pasar Besar secara menyeluruh. Ia mengingatkan agar kepentingan umum menjadi prioritas utama dibanding kepentingan pribadi.
“Konflik kepentingan ini harusnya kepentingan umum yang diutamakan, jangan kepentingan pribadi. Kalau tidak, nanti bisa timbul masalah seperti ini,” tegasnya.
Meski tidak melakukan peninjauan secara terbuka, Wahyu mengaku telah melihat langsung kondisi di lapangan. Ia memilih memantau secara diam-diam setelah menerima laporan. “Saya sudah lihat di sana, tapi tidak perlu harus dengan media,” katanya.
Terkait penanganan, Pemkot Malang akan melakukan perbaikan sementara menggunakan anggaran yang tersedia di Diskopindag. Langkah ini bersifat temporer untuk mencegah risiko yang tidak diinginkan.
“Yang penting penyelesaian Pasar Besar ini harus cepat selesai. Ini kan sifatnya sementara, kita khawatir terjadi hal yang tidak kita inginkan,” jelasnya.

Ia juga menyinggung kejadian sebelumnya di sisi barat pasar yang menimbulkan kekhawatiran. Untuk itu, area bawah yang berpotensi membahayakan telah dibatasi.
Ke depan, Pemkot Malang akan melibatkan Dinas PUPR untuk melakukan penilaian konstruksi. Koordinasi dilakukan guna memastikan tingkat kelayakan bangunan dan menentukan langkah lanjutan.
“Nanti kita minta Kopindag untuk anggaran perawatan, dibantu PU untuk penilaian konstruksi. Dilihat berapa yang retak dan koordinasi dengan DPUPRPKP untuk kelayakannya,” pungkasnya.
