JATIMTIMES - Pemerintah Kota Blitar memasang alat pengusir burung blekok di kawasan Alun-Alun Kota Blitar sebagai upaya menjaga kebersihan dan kenyamanan ruang publik. Langkah tersebut dilakukan dalam rangkaian kegiatan kerja bakti yang dipimpin langsung Wali Kota Blitar H. Syauqul Muhibbin atau Mas Ibin bersama jajaran organisasi perangkat daerah (OPD), Jumat (10/4/2026).

Pemasangan alat pengusir burung dilakukan di sejumlah titik, khususnya di area pohon beringin yang selama ini menjadi tempat bertengger burung blekok. Keberadaan burung tersebut dinilai menjadi salah satu penyebab utama kotoran di kawasan alun-alun, meski pembersihan rutin dilakukan setiap hari.

Wali Kota Blitar Mas Ibin mengatakan, pemasangan alat pengusir burung merupakan bagian dari upaya menjaga ruang terbuka publik agar tetap bersih dan nyaman bagi masyarakat. Selain itu, kegiatan tersebut juga menjadi bagian dari gerakan Indonesia Asri yang mendorong pemerintah daerah aktif menjaga kebersihan lingkungan.

“Kami memang ada gerakan Indonesia Asri seperti dipelopori Pak Presiden. Jadi kami sering mengadakan bersih-bersih bareng untuk membersihkan Kota Blitar. Ini bertepatan juga dengan hari Jumat, maka kita fokuskan di sekitaran alun-alun untuk bersih-bersih dan memperbaiki fasilitas,” ujar Mas Ibin.

Menurutnya, alun-alun merupakan ruang terbuka publik yang memiliki fungsi penting sebagai pusat aktivitas masyarakat. Karena itu, kebersihan dan kenyamanan kawasan harus terus dijaga melalui perawatan rutin.

“Saya kira alun-alun ini konsepnya open space tradisional. Kota di mana pun pasti punya alun-alun. Alun-alun yang bagus itu selain mempertahankan konsep tradisional, juga nyaman untuk aktivitas masyarakat. Karena banyak masyarakat dan anak-anak menggunakan alun-alun ini, maka ini menjadi objek vital yang harus dijaga dan dirapikan,” jelasnya.

Mas Ibin mengakui keberadaan burung blekok selama ini menjadi salah satu persoalan kebersihan di kawasan alun-alun. Meski pembersihan dilakukan setiap hari, kotoran burung tetap muncul karena populasi burung cukup banyak, terutama di sisi utara kawasan.

“Kalau burung blekok ini bersih, saya kira alun-alun lebih bagus untuk masyarakat. Problem utama sepanjang alun-alun memang burung blekok. Walaupun setiap hari dibersihkan, tetap saja kotor karena burung bertengger di pohon-pohon sekitar,” katanya.

Ia menambahkan, pemasangan alat pengusir dilakukan secara bertahap dan menggunakan metode yang tidak menyakiti hewan. Pemerintah juga membuka partisipasi masyarakat untuk memberikan masukan melalui kanal pengaduan yang tersedia.

“Kita pasang alat pengusir. Yang di sisi selatan sudah berhasil, burungnya mulai berpindah. Yang di bagian utara memang agak bandel. Kalau masyarakat punya cara mengusir, bisa disampaikan melalui kanal Sapa Mas Wali. Tentunya dengan cara yang tidak menyakiti hewan,” ujarnya.

Kepala Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) Kota Blitar Jajuk Indihartati mengatakan, pemasangan alat pengusir burung merupakan bagian dari pembenahan sarana prasarana alun-alun yang dilakukan secara berkala. Selain itu, DLH juga melakukan pembersihan rutin untuk menjaga kebersihan kawasan.

“Ini untuk mendukung gerakan Indonesia Asri. Setiap hari Jumat kita melakukan kerja bakti di luar kantor, salah satunya di alun-alun. Kita melakukan beberapa pembenahan sarana prasarana, termasuk pembersihan kotoran burung yang cukup banyak di sisi utara,” ujarnya.

Menurutnya, pembersihan kawasan alun-alun dilakukan secara rutin, bahkan setiap hari di beberapa titik yang menjadi lokasi bertengger burung. Sementara area jalan di sekitar alun-alun dibersihkan secara berkala oleh petugas DLH.

“Untuk di dalam alun-alun bisa setiap hari dibersihkan. Sedangkan area jalan biasanya seminggu sekali atau dua kali. Pembersihan ini dilakukan oleh tenaga DLH yang dioptimalkan agar efisien,” jelasnya.

Jajuk juga mengajak masyarakat ikut menjaga kebersihan fasilitas publik yang telah dibenahi pemerintah. Ia menegaskan alun-alun merupakan ruang bersama yang harus dirawat secara kolektif.

“Harapan kami masyarakat juga mempunyai tanggung jawab bersama. Jangan merusak fasilitas dan menjaga kebersihan. Karena alun-alun ini milik bersama masyarakat Kota Blitar,” katanya.

Dalam kegiatan tersebut, Wali Kota Mas Ibin juga berangkat menuju alun-alun dengan berjalan kaki dari rumah dinas, kemudian melanjutkan perjalanan menggunakan becak. Bahkan, ia sempat mengayuh becak dengan tukang becak duduk di depan sebagai simbol pemimpin yang melayani masyarakat.

Kegiatan tersebut tetap dilaksanakan meski Pemerintah Kota Blitar menerapkan kebijakan work from home (WFH) setiap hari Jumat. Wali Kota dan jajaran OPD tetap hadir di lapangan untuk memastikan pembenahan fasilitas publik berjalan optimal serta pelayanan kepada masyarakat tetap terjaga.
