JATIMTIMES - Polresta Malang Kota membenarkan telah menerima laporan yang diajukan Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI) Malang Raya terkait dugaan penghinaan terhadap profesi wartawan yang ditujukan kepada pengacara Hotman Paris Hutapea. Laporan tersebut kini memasuki tahap awal sesuai mekanisme penanganan yang berlaku di kepolisian.
Pengaduan resmi itu disampaikan Ketua PWI Malang Raya, Ir. Cahyono, ke Sentra Pelayanan Kepolisian Terpadu (SPKT) Polresta Malang Kota pada Selasa (21/7/2026). Laporan tersebut telah teregister dengan Nomor: STTPM/1.411/VII/2026/SPKT POLRESTA MALANG KOTA.

Kasi Humas Polresta Malang Kota, Ipda Lukman Sobhikin, membenarkan adanya laporan tersebut. Menurutnya, kepolisian memiliki kewajiban menerima setiap pengaduan yang diajukan masyarakat maupun organisasi sepanjang memenuhi ketentuan administrasi.
“Benar, hari ini ada pengaduan yang disampaikan oleh Ketua PWI Malang Raya melalui SPKT. Seluruh laporan yang masuk akan kami terima sebagai bagian dari pelayanan kepolisian kepada masyarakat,” kata Lukman.
Ia menjelaskan, diterimanya laporan bukan berarti perkara langsung masuk ke tahap penyidikan. Setelah registrasi, laporan akan dipelajari lebih dahulu oleh penyidik untuk menentukan langkah penanganan sesuai ketentuan hukum yang berlaku.
“Setelah laporan diterima, akan dilakukan telaah awal terhadap materi pengaduan. Dari situ akan ditentukan tindak lanjutnya sesuai prosedur, apakah diperlukan klarifikasi, pengumpulan bahan keterangan, atau tahapan lainnya,” imbuhnya.
Lukman menambahkan, pihaknya belum dapat menyampaikan lebih jauh mengenai substansi perkara karena saat ini masih menjadi kewenangan penyelidik.
“Kami belum bisa berbicara mengenai pokok perkara ataupun dugaan tindak pidananya. Yang bisa kami pastikan saat ini adalah laporan telah diterima dan prosesnya akan berjalan sesuai mekanisme yang berlaku,” tambah Lukman.
Laporan tersebut berawal dari tayangan konferensi pers yang disaksikan pengurus PWI Malang Raya melalui platform YouTube di Kantor PWI Malang Raya, Ruko Istana Dinoyo Blok B Nomor 10, Kecamatan Lowokwaru, Kota Malang, pada Jumat (17/7/2026).

Dalam tayangan itu, seorang wartawan mengajukan pertanyaan terkait materi pemeriksaan sebuah perkara di lingkungan Kejaksaan Agung RI. Saat menjawab pertanyaan tersebut, Hotman Paris diduga mengeluarkan ucapan yang kemudian menjadi sorotan publik, termasuk kalimat “Lu punya otak nggak?” yang dinilai PWI Malang Raya sebagai bentuk penghinaan terhadap wartawan yang sedang menjalankan tugas jurnalistik.
PWI Malang Raya menilai ucapan tersebut tidak hanya menyasar individu yang mengajukan pertanyaan, tetapi juga berpotensi merendahkan martabat profesi pers secara keseluruhan. Atas dasar itu, organisasi memutuskan membawa persoalan tersebut ke ranah hukum.
Sementara itu, Lukman memastikan Polresta Malang Kota akan menangani laporan tersebut secara profesional tanpa mengesampingkan asas praduga tak bersalah.
“Prinsip kami adalah memberikan pelayanan hukum yang adil kepada semua pihak. Setiap laporan akan diproses secara profesional, objektif, dan berdasarkan alat bukti yang diperoleh selama proses penyelidikan,” ucapnya.
Selanjutnya, penyelidik akan melakukan serangkaian tahapan sesuai ketentuan hukum, mulai dari verifikasi laporan, permintaan keterangan kepada pihak-pihak terkait, hingga menentukan ada atau tidaknya unsur pidana sebelum perkara dapat ditingkatkan ke tahap berikutnya.
