JATIMTIMES - Aksi pencurian kendaraan bermotor (curanmor) sebuah sepeda motor di halaman Masjid Manarul Islam, Desa Kenongo, Kecamatan Jabung, Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur berhasil digagalkan warga. Komplotan curanmor tersebut kepergok para jemaah usai salat isya yang berlangsung pada Kamis (18/6/2026) malam.
Komplotan pelaku curanmor tersebut diketahui berjumlah dua orang. Di mana, satu pelaku di antaranya berhasil diamankan warga dan polisi. Sementara seorang pelaku lainnya berhasil melarikan diri dan hingga kini masih dalam pengejaran polisi.

Kasihumas Polres Malang AKP M. Budiono mengatakan, peristiwa curanmor tersebut terjadi pada Kamis (18/6/2026) sekitar pukul 18.45 WIB. Sementara terduga pelaku yang turut berhasil diamankan polisi tersebut diketahui berinisial M. Pelaku yang kini berusia 32 tahun tersebut merupakan warga Desa Jabung, Kecamatan Jabung, Kabupaten Malang.
"Terhadap yang bersangkutan saat ini telah ditetapkan sebagai tersangka," ujar Budiono saat dikonfirmasi di sela-sela agenda penyidikan, Jumat (19/6/2026) malam.
Korban curanmor tersebut diketahui berinisial MK. Korban yang kini berusia 51 tahun tersebut merupakan warga Desa Kenongo, Kecamatan Jabung.
"Kasus curanmor tersebut terungkap setelah korban selesai melaksanakan salat berjamaah. Ketika itu korban mendengar teriakan warga yang sedang meneriaki pelaku," ujarnya.
Sebelumnya, korban diketahui datang ke masjid pada sekitar pukul 17.30 WIB. Setelahnya, korban memarkirkan sepeda motornya di halaman masjid yang kemudian melaksanakan salat berjamaah.
"Setelah salat isya selesai, korban mendengar teriakan: maling, maling. Setelah itu korban sudah mendapati sepeda motornya telah berpindah tempat dan seorang pelaku yang telah diamankan oleh para jemaah," kata Budiono.
Ketika hendak diamankan warga tersebut, disampaikan Budiono, seorang pelaku lainnya berhasil melarikan diri. Di sisi lain, massa yang pada saat itu emosi juga sempat memukul tersangka yang berhasil diamankan secara bersama-sama tersebut.
"Massa yang emosi juga membakar sepeda motor yang digunakan pelaku sebelum petugas tiba di lokasi," imbuhnya.

Situasi mulai kondusif saat pihak kepolisian tiba di lokasi kejadian. Pelaku pada saat itu juga langsung diamankan polisi guna dilakukan proses penanganan hukum secara lebih lanjut.
Berdasarkan hasil penyidikan polisi, pelaku diketahui beraksi dengan menggunakan kunci letter T. Barang sarana curanmor tersebut digunakan pelaku untuk merusak rumah kunci sepeda motor milik korban.
Namun, aksi para pelaku dipergoki oleh sejumlah jemaah sebelum mereka berhasil membawa kabur kendaraan milik korban tersebut. "Modus yang digunakan pelaku adalah dengan mengambil sepeda motor yang diparkir di halaman masjid menggunakan kunci letter T. Pelaku diduga memanfaatkan situasi saat para jemaah sedang melaksanakan salat," jelasnya.
Dari hasil ungkap kasus curanmor tersebut, polisi juga turut mengamankan sejumlah barang bukti. Yakni yang antara lain meliputi satu unit sepeda motor Honda Beat milik korban, satu set kunci letter T beserta tiga anak kunci, tas selempang, serta sepeda motor Honda Vario milik pelaku yang telah dalam kondisi terbakar.
"Saat ini tersangka telah diamankan dan sedang menjalani proses penyidikan lebih lanjut. Kami juga masih melakukan pengembangan dan pengejaran terhadap satu pelaku lain yang berhasil melarikan diri," ujarnya.
Di sisi lain, Polres Malang juga turut mengapresiasi respons cepat masyarakat yang membantu menggagalkan aksi pencurian tersebut. "Namun demikian, kami juga turut mengimbau agar masyarakat menyerahkan sepenuhnya proses penanganan terhadap pelaku kepada pihak kepolisian. Akan kami proses sesuai ketentuan hukum yang berlaku," pungkasnya.
