JATIMTIMES - Wakil Bupati Malang Lathifah Shohib meminta kepada seluruh masyarakat Kabupaten Malang untuk dapat menjaga warisan tradisi dan budaya leluhur di tengah perkembangan zaman serta teknologi yang semakin cepat.
Pejabat perempuan yang merupakan cucu dari salah satu pendiri Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) KH. Bisri Syansuri ini menyampaikan, di tengah perkembangan zaman yang semakin cepat dan modern saati ini, perlu dilakukan berbagai upaya untuk menjaga identitas budaya yang menjadi akar kehidupan masyarakat.

Menurut Lathifah, kemajuan pembangunan harus berjalan seiring dengan pelestarian nilai-nilai budaya dan tradisi yang telah menjadi bagian dari kehidupan masyarakat Kabupaten Malang. Pasalnya, nilai-nilai budaya dan tradisi telah membentuk karakter gotong royong masyarakat Kabupaten Malang.
"Karena sesungguhnya masyarakat yang maju bukanlah masyarakat yang meninggalkan budayanya, melainkan masyarakat yang mampu menjaga warisan leluhurnya sambil beradaptasi dengan perkembangan zaman," ungkap Lathifah.
Pejabat perempuan yang sebelumnya menjabat sebagai Anggota DPR RI ini juga mengajak seluruh masyarakat Kabupaten Malang untuk terus menjaga kerukunan, memperkuat semangat gotong royong, serta bersama-sama mendukung berbagai program pembangunan di Kabupaten Malang.
"Saya yakin, ketika pemerintah dan masyarakat berjalan beriringan, maka berbagai tantangan dapat dihadapi dan berbagai potensi desa dapat dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat," tutur Lathifah.

Terlebih lagi, ia menyebut Kabupaten Malang merupakan salah satu daerah di Indonesia yang dianugerahi oleh Tuhan Yang Maha Esa dengan memiliki penduduk terbanyak dan wilayah terluas kedua di Provinsi Jawa Timur. Di mana dengan kondisi demografi dan geografis yang kompleks tersebut, menjaga nilai-nilai budaya dan tradisi merupakan suatu hal yang penting.
"Oleh karena itu, keberadaan tradisi ini harus terus dijaga sebagai sarana mempererat hubungan sosial, memperkuat rasa memiliki terhadap desa, serta menumbuhkan kecintaan generasi muda terhadap budaya lokal," pungkas Lathifah.
