JATIMTIMES - Persoalan infertilitas atau gangguan kesuburan ternyata menjadi ancaman serius bagi pasangan usia subur di Malang Raya. Jumlahnya pun tidak sedikit. Diperkirakan ada puluhan ribu pasangan yang membutuhkan bantuan medis agar bisa memperoleh keturunan.
Fakta tersebut mengemuka dalam edukasi kesehatan reproduksi yang digelar di salah satu hotel di Kota Malang. Kegiatan itu diikuti ratusan pasangan yang ingin memahami penyebab kegagalan program hamil dan solusi penanganannya.

Prof Dr dr Budi Santoso SpOG mengungkapkan, jumlah pasangan usia subur di wilayah Malang Raya diperkirakan mencapai sekitar 450 ribu pasangan. Dari jumlah tersebut, sekitar 10 hingga 12 persen mengalami persoalan infertilitas.
"Kalau angka infertilitas itu 10 sampai 12 persen, maka ada sekitar 22.000 sampai 36.000 pasangan usia subur yang memerlukan bantuan supaya hamil," ujarnya.
Menurut Prof. Budi, masih banyak pasangan yang terlambat menyadari adanya gangguan kesuburan. Padahal, penanganan infertilitas seharusnya dilakukan sedini mungkin agar peluang keberhasilan program kehamilan semakin besar.
Ia menjelaskan, penanganan infertilitas dilakukan secara bertahap sesuai kondisi masing-masing pasien. Mulai dari pengaturan waktu hubungan suami istri, terapi obat, tindakan laparoskopi, inseminasi, hingga program bayi tabung.
"Kami hadir dari Morula untuk memberikan solusi sekaligus pencerahan bagaimana penanganan masalah kesuburan itu dilakukan," katanya.
Prof Budi juga menilai Malang memiliki kebutuhan layanan fertilitas yang cukup tinggi. Sebab hingga kini, angka pasangan dengan gangguan kesuburan masih cukup besar.
"Jumlah masalah infertilitas cukup banyak, dan di Malang belum ada. Mudah-mudahan ke depan Malang yang sudah cukup besar ini bisa memiliki pusat bayi tabung," ucapnya.
Sementara itu, dr Benediktus Arifin MPH SpOG(K), mengatakan, tren penurunan angka kelahiran di kota besar turut menjadi sinyal meningkatnya persoalan fertilitas masyarakat.

"TFR di Malang sekitar 1,8 sampai 1,9. Artinya rata-rata pasangan memiliki anak kurang dari dua. Ini menunjukkan semakin banyak orang yang mengalami kesulitan untuk memiliki anak," katanya.
Menurut Benediktus, perubahan gaya hidup modern menjadi salah satu faktor utama yang memengaruhi tingkat kesuburan pasangan. Penundaan usia menikah, tuntutan pendidikan, tekanan ekonomi, hingga keputusan menunda memiliki anak dinilai berdampak besar terhadap penurunan fertilitas.
"Lifestyle, nutrisi, pendidikan, ekonomi, sampai keputusan menunda memiliki anak juga berpengaruh. Padahal semakin bertambah usia wanita maupun pria, angka fertilitas juga akan semakin menurun," jelasnya.
Antusiasme masyarakat terhadap edukasi tersebut juga meningkat tajam dibanding tahun sebelumnya. Bahkan jumlah peserta disebut hampir dua kali lipat dari kuota awal.
"Pesertanya hampir dua kali lipat. Bahkan melebihi kuota yang ada, sehingga kemungkinan nanti akan ada agenda lanjutan. Di kegiatan hari ini, ada 125 pasangan yang ikut," ujarnya.
