JATIMTIMES - Memperingati hari jadi ke-36, Harley Davidson Club Indonesia (HDCI) Jawa Timur menggelar open turnamen padel yang akan diselenggarakan pada 8-10 Mei 2026 di Bay Arena Sport Center, Kenjeran Surabaya. 

Kejuaraan padel terbesar di Surabaya ini akan mempertandingkan nomor rookie men/women, low bronze men/women, high bronze men, bronze mix, silver open, HDCI members (singgle/ couple), yang memperebutkan total hadiah Rp 170 juta. Beberapa hadiah menarik juga dibagikan panitia, diantaranya doorprice 20 voucher menginap gratis di hotel dan hadiah menarik lainnya. 

"Kegiatan ini untuk memperingati hari jadi HDCI dan akan dimeriahkan serentak oleh seluruh member. Selain mempertandingkan kategori khusus member HDCI, kita juga membuka open turnamen yang mempertandingkan berbagai nomor. Termasuk kelas rookie atau pemula," jelas Ketua HDCI Jawa Timur, Tonny Wahyudi. 

Tonny Wahyudi menyebutkan, kategori rookie dipertandingkan, untuk memfasilitasi penggemar olahraga padel yang baru belajar agar bisa mengikuti turnamen di level pemula yang saat ini cukup banyak peminatnya. 

"Kelas ini cukup menarik bagi penggemar padel yang masih baru belajar atau pemula untuk memperebutkan gelar juara. Kita ingin olahraga padel lebih banyak penggemar dan lebih dikenal masyarakat luas. Apalagi sekarang sudah dipertandingkan di kejuaraan resmi seperti PON hingga Internasional," tambahnya. 

Sementara itu, Anthony dari Grandeur Padel sebagai panitia menyebutkan, even ini bakal menjadi kejuaraan padel terbesar di Surabaya karena diikuti cukup banyak peserta. Selain itu, banyaknya jumlah kategori yang dipertandingkan menjadi daya tarik bagi peserta. 

"Hingga saat ini peserta yang ikut sekitar 200 tim dari member HDCI dan kategori umum. Khusus untuk kategori rookie, panitia akan melakukan screening agar peserta yang ikut betul-betul kategori pemula. Jadi sportifitas tetap kita jaga," tambahnya.
