JATIMTIMES - Media sosial tengah dihebohkan oleh video seorang anak laki-laki yang matanya memerah, diduga akibat terlalu sering bermain HP. Video tersebut pertama kali diunggah oleh akun TikTok @thescorpio_1990 dan langsung menjadi perhatian banyak warganet. 

Dalam video itu, seorang anak bernama Abdul terlihat berdiri bersama seorang ibu yang memberikan nasihat tentang penggunaan HP.

Ketika ditanya tentang kondisi matanya yang memerah, Abdul mengakui bahwa hal itu terjadi karena kebiasaan bermain HP terlalu lama. Bahkan, Abdul menyatakan dirinya tak ingin lagi bermain HP setelah mengalami hal tersebut. 

"Tidak," jawab Abdul sambil menggeleng ketika ditanya apakah masih ingin bermain HP. 

Di sisi lain, ibu yang mendampinginya juga memberikan peringatan kepada para orang tua untuk membatasi waktu anak-anak bermain HP. "Boleh main HP, tapi sebentar saja, jangan dari pagi sampai malam," ujar sang ibu yang ada di samping Abdul. 

"Tolong batasi anak Anda bermain HP, jika tidak ingin mereka mengalami hal seperti ini." demikian keterangan dalam video. 

Namun pertanyaannya, apakah benar mata merah seperti Abdul disebabkan oleh terlalu banyak menatap layar HP? 

Melansir laman Kemenkes, penggunaan perangkat digital seperti HP atau komputer secara berlebihan dapat memicu Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), yaitu kumpulan gejala akibat terlalu lama menatap layar. Meskipun mata merah mungkin bukan gejala utama, kelelahan mata akibat menatap layar bisa menjadi penyebabnya. 

Mata manusia sejatinya dirancang untuk melihat objek yang jauh, sehingga aktivitas fokus pada layar dekat dalam durasi panjang dapat memicu ketegangan mata. 

Gejala yang Muncul Akibat CVS
• Penglihatan Ganda: Mata yang terlalu lelah bisa membuat penglihatan menjadi ganda.
• Penglihatan Buram: Mata kerap kehilangan kejernihan setelah terlalu lama menatap layar.
• Nyeri Kepala: Ketegangan mata sering diiringi dengan sakit kepala, terutama di bagian dahi atau belakang kepala.
• Iritasi Mata: Menatap layar terlalu lama dapat membuat mata kering dan terasa perih. 

Ada beberapa penyebab utama yang memicu CVS, di antaranya:
• Cahaya Layar Tidak Sesuai: Layar yang terlalu terang atau redup dapat meningkatkan ketegangan mata.
• Jarak Pandang Dekat: Menatap layar dari jarak yang terlalu dekat memaksa mata bekerja lebih keras.
• Durasi yang Lama: Penggunaan layar tanpa istirahat memperburuk kondisi mata.
• Postur yang Buruk: Duduk dengan posisi yang salah menambah ketegangan pada leher, punggung, dan mata. 

Tips Mencegah Ketegangan Mata Akibat Layar
Kabar baiknya, gejala CVS dapat dicegah dengan langkah-langkah sederhana berikut ini:
• Ikuti Aturan 20-20-20
Setiap 20 menit, alihkan pandangan Anda dari layar dan lihat objek sejauh 20 kaki (sekitar 6 meter) selama 20 detik. Cara ini membantu mata beristirahat dan mengurangi ketegangan.
• Atur Pencahayaan dengan Benar
Pastikan ruangan tidak terlalu terang atau terlalu gelap. Sesuaikan pencahayaan layar agar tidak terlalu menyilaukan.
• Jaga Jarak Pandang
Idealnya, jarak antara mata dan layar adalah 50-70 cm. Ini dapat mengurangi beban pada mata.
• Beristirahat Secara Berkala
Setiap satu jam, luangkan waktu 5-10 menit untuk istirahat. Gunakan kesempatan ini untuk berdiri, berjalan, atau melakukan peregangan.
• Gunakan Kacamata Khusus
Jika Anda sering menggunakan perangkat digital, pertimbangkan memakai kacamata anti-radiasi yang dapat melindungi mata dari paparan cahaya biru.
