Dalam laga menghadapi Bhayangkara FC, Ernando salah jatuh sehingga membuat bahunya bermasalah. Pelatih Persebaya Paul Munster mengaku tidak bisa secara detail menjelaskan kondisi Ernando setelah mendapatkan cedera tersebut.

"Saya tidak bisa menjelaskan bagaimana kondisi cedera Ernando,” kata Paul Munster, dikutip pada Selasa (6/2/2024).
Ernando tampil sebagai starter saat menjamu Bhayangkara FC. Ia melakukan beberapa save penting dalam laga melawan Bhayangkara FC.
Ia juga jeli dalam membantu build up serangan Bajol Ijo. Dia lantas ditarik di ujung laga karena memperoleh cedera bahu, namun masih di pinggir lapangan untuk terus memberikan dukungan pada rekan-rekannya.
Kini, ia menjalani serangkaian observasi dan pemeriksaan untuk memastikan kondisi cedera yang ia alami. Harapannya, dia bisa segera pulih supaya bisa bergabung latihan dan kembali bermain.
”Dokter masih memeriksanya, tim akan memberikan perawatan terbaik agar dia bisa segera kembali berlatih dan bermain,” jelas Paul Munster.

Ernando baru bergabung ke Persebaya Jumat lalu setelah baru saja pulang dari Qatar untuk membela Timnas Indonesia di Piala Asia. Ernando Ari menjadi bagian Timnas yang membukukan sejarah lolos ke 16 besar Piala Asia di Qatar. Ia selalu menjadi starter dan tampil 90 menit.
Tak hanya selalu menjadi pilihan utama tim asuhan Shin Tae-yong, Ernando juga sempat mencatatkan satu clean sheet, yakni saat skuat Garuda menang 1-0 atas Vietnam. Laga ini merupakan satu-satunya kemenangan Indonesia di turnamen itu.
